LA VAISSELLE DES CHEFS (The chefs fine china)
2nd May 2010 at the Halle de Beaune
A simple idea and an immense public success.
The event called «la Vaisselle des Chefs », is being held for the first time in Beaune, Bourgogne on the 2nd May in la Halle. After the enormous success experienced in Lyon in 2008 and 2009, the organizers Brigitte Falcot and Catherine Pons would like to bring this phenomen to Bourgogne.
This sale open to the general public includes the Burgundy chefs finest china and kitchen utensils. The chefs, very involved in the project, offer their own signature plates, champagne buckets, extraordinary silver trays, interesting designed plates, also includes table art decorations, silver candleholders, solifores, tablecloths, chefs aprons or jackets ……. They could also offer copper pans and cast iron and aluminum utensils and even for some, professional kitchen furniture and tools. Everything selling at bargin prices starting at just a few euros. Most prices do not exceed 60 euros. Of the most exceptional items (silverware, furniture) these can reach up to 200 euros or more.
“We’ve realized that this type of sale corresponds to the public interested in utility objects or decorative objects linked to personal memories”. Comments by Brigitte Falcot and Catherine Pons.
This year in Beaune, there are several famous chefs who are selling some of their mostly cherished treasures: the three stared Jean-Michel Lorain (Relais et Château la Côte Saint-Jacques), Stéphane Derbord ( restaurant Stéphane Derbord), Yohann Chapuis (Greuze), Bruno Monnoir (le Bénaton), David Le Comte et Nicolas Isnard (Auberge de la Charme), Jean-Pierre Billoux (le Pré aux Clercs), Romain Detot (les Gourmets).
Professional antique traders and brokers are associated to this event and present objects which are linked with kitchen and table art. Precious china and silverware, earthenware and china from the 60’s, paintings, a huge collection that complements perfectly the chefs assortment.
The Editions Stéphane Bachès offer to the public the “collection gourmand”, a lovely publication of precious recipes of our grandmothers.
To summarise all, it is an event that cannot be missed in spring 2010 at Beaune, for all the food connaisseurs, deco fans, epicureans and bargin hunters…..
